Back in Black(burn)!

MOMs return to Royal Blackburn Hospital to run another workshop for first year sixth formers in East Lancashire. Nostalgia was at an all-time high as many volunteers were reminded how far MOMs have came in just 12 months.

With approximately 40 young people in attendance, MOMs were very pleased to be working yet again with young people from East Lancashire. Running the event was Amy Kitchen, a 4th Year Medical Student, and a very involved MOMs volunteer. Amy Kitchen is from East Lancashire herself, and took part in a widening participation Programme that Royal Blackburn Hospital ran whilst she was in sixth form. An amazing demonstration of the long-term impact that effective widening participation initiatives can have.

Here at MOMs, we especially appreciate how seriously East Lancashire Hospitals take widening participation!
