WHO MOMs ARE

Manchester Outreach Medics (MOMs) are a team of medical student volunteers from Manchester Medical School who run widening participation initiatives. Manchester. Founded in 2015, MOMs aim to support young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds in their aspirations for careers in medicine.

The team organise a series of outreach events throughout the academic year to empower young people with knowledge about medical school and life as a doctor. With a firm belief in providing equal opportunities, MOMs works with Year 10 - Year 13 students from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire to attend for free.

MOMs events are designed to provide valuable guidance through informative presentations, innovative group activities and passionate medical student-led teaching. These are all brought to fruition by the ever-growing team of volunteers, who deliver high quality content in their shared enthusiasm for the MOMs mission.
